Be Awesome Encouragers

Are you a naturally encouraging person?

Does it come easy to you?

Do you find it easy to receive encouragement from other people?

Hebrews 10: 24-25 says;

‘And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.’

Do you indulge in a bit of reality TV?

I’m sure most of us have seen at least a little bit, haven’t we?

The Great British Bake Off started last night, I love it, but it just makes me want to bake.

On the bake off the contestants always seem to encourage one another, share tips, and help when they see their fellow contestants struggling.

And there are other reality TV shows, where the aim of the game seems to be to cause as many arguments as possible, to talk behind each other’s backs and to generally make chaos and cause division.

I want to be a bake off person, I want to encourage others and to be encouraged.

The passage from Hebrews asks us, how we spur each other on toward love and good deeds.

So how do we do it?

So this week why not try to do both. Try to identify two people, one person you can encourage through your words. Let them know that they are doing great, that you see them and see what they are doing.

The second person, why not show them some encouragement. If like me you’ve got your bake on from the bake off, make them a cake and tell them why.

We can be really creative in how we encourage one another, so why not give it a go this week, (you don’t have to bake, do something you think will bring that person joy).

It would be awesome to hear testimonies of Zeo family being encouraged by one another.

And finally why not encourage your friends, family and work colleagues to receive the best gift in the world, in finding out more about Jesus at Alpha.

Let’s continue to lift up Tewabech  in prayer as she leads this course, which starts tonight.
LORD we want to see people transformed by knowing Jesus!

Go be awesome encouragers!
