Christ’s Ambassadors

You can Talk the Talk, but can you Walk the Walk

‘Whoever claims to live in Him, must live as Jesus did’ – 1 John 2:6

I’ve been reflecting on this further and how this plays out in my day-to-day interactions.

How would Jesus be in all the everyday, mundane things that happen in our lives?

Sometimes, I don’t know about you, but even though I know, I sort of forget that Jesus was fully human as well as fully God.

Jesus had daily interactions with people, He didn’t start His ministry until He was thirty, imagine all the customers He had to deal with over the years as a carpenter.

Small interactions when we’re intentional can really turn someone’s day around, can’t they.

I love going to the shop with some of the children in my family, because when we go to leave, they always say to the person at the checkout,

‘Thank you. Hope you have a good day’

The majority of the time, this elicits, the biggest smile from the person serving. Some are even quite taken back, by those few simple words.

This week I’m going to try and be more intentional in my interactions, when I’m in the shops, when I’m walking about, I’m going to say hello to more people I meet.

Not because I want to be nice.

When I was at school I had a teacher Mrs Sargent, who also went to my church, she never let us use the word nice. She said it was boring and not descriptive enough. That’s stuck with me, I agree I don’t want to be nice, to be mediocre, to be wishy washy.

I want to be passionate, on fire for God.  For people to see something different in me and want to find out more about it.

2 Corinthians 5:20 says;

‘ We are therefore Christ’s ambassador’s, as though God were making His appeal through us’.

God wants to use us to not only to tell others about Him, but to also show others Jesus.

Jesus isn’t just nice, He is awesome!

I pray that wherever life takes you this week, and whoever you have interactions with, that you would be Christ’s ambassador and that Jesus would shine through you.
